Jordan always had a love and passion for hunting and the outdoors, where Shelby found her love for it more by wanting to spend time with Jordan.

 

   We would spend our weekends creating food plots, scouting and doing whatever we could to make a property better for the wildlife that lived there but also to hunt and provide food for ourselves. We would spend our evenings watching hunting shows and talking about someday moving to the midwest.

   Jordan opened his first taxidermy business in Vermont in 2014 after working under someone else for 2 years.

 

   We worked hard, saved what we could and planned hunting trips in other states. We loved the camp life, spending time with friends and making new ones while on these hunting trips. But it always felt like something was missing, which is where the dream of starting an outfitting business really began.

 

   As our taxidermy business grew, the less time we had to go on hunting trips. In 2017 we welcomed our daughter, Aliyah into our lives! She has grown up with us in the taxidermy shop, putting in food plots, tracking deer, checking trail cameras and has developed her own love for the outdoors. We knew the lifestyle we wanted and the dreams we had were not going to be fulfilled if we stayed where we were.

   We still had our dream of moving and starting an outfitting & taxidermy business. We wanted to create a place where it felt like home away from home. When we first started going on trips, we had to plan ahead and save for that trip. It was a week away from work we had to make up. We believed this to be true for most people that went on trips, it was their one vacation away doing what they enjoyed and the last thing we want is for you to feel like your time and money was wasted.

   So, after years of just having a dream of moving and starting an outfitting business, we made the move to Kentucky and started Country Raised Outfitting and Taxidermy.

​

   Our dream with Country Raised is to provide our hunters with a small group experience. We take pride in setting up the stands, putting in the plots, doing everything that is under our control to the best of our ability. We know we can't control mother nature or the wildlife but we will set you up the best we can to get a harvest. We appreciate you choosing to come hunt with us and do everything we can to give you a great experience.
